Ephraim and family

What a Blessing!

March 15, 20263 min read

Some time ago I was praying about Project Zambia and the land where we would need to start planting gardens that could help us move forward with some of our LSF mission projects. I remember distinctly Ephraim and his family coming to my mind, but at the time I did not say anything as I knew they lived a long way from Pastor Joel and the mission.

I kept praying and felt led to ask Joel if he thought Ephraim and his family might be interested in moving closer to the mission to volunteer with Living Seeds. Joel gave a jolly laugh because he was thinking the same thing but had not spoken to us about it yet. There were multiple confirmations and so Joel called Ephraim and asked him and his wife Janet to pray and see if they might want to come and volunteer for a year with LSF. They said yes!!

Not long after this, Ephraim, Janet and their son moved close to the mission! It was a long way, but they are now settled in this year to help out wherever the need is. The interesting part is that I felt Holy Spirit tell me to ask Ephraim and his wife if they would like to help with farming and the future development of the youth mentorship program that will be connected to the farm. I had no idea this was Ephraim and his family's dream! God is sooo good!!! Please see what Ephraim wrote to us below in a short note he sent via message.

We are so thankful to have a husband-and-wife team join us! Ephraim will be acting as the Project Manager of African Missions (Zambia) and his wife Janet will be acting in a ministry support role as the Missions Coordinator for African Missions (Zambia).

WELCOME Ephraim and Janet!! --And thank you for taking photos for us! You have a beautiful family.

Note from Ephraim:

My dream is to become a farmer. Not just any farmer, but one who uses the land to spread God's message and empower young people. I’ve always felt a calling to work with my hands, to see growth and abundance, and, to share the hope I have with others.

Growing up, I saw how farming can change lives. My community struggles with food security and I want to be part of the solution by cultivating crops like maize, cabbage and other vegetables. I envision a thriving farm that feeds families and brings people together. But, it's not just about the harvest, it's about the hearts we touch.

My vision is to create a youth farm program where young people can learn skills like sustainable farming, leadership, and teamwork. We will work together, laugh together, and grow together. As we tend the land, we will share stories of faith, hope, and God's love. I want this farm to be a place where young people discover their purpose and passion.

With support and guidance, I believe this dream can become a reality. The farm will be a hub for community outreach, feeding the hungry, and creating opportunity. I’m excited to see how God will use this ministry to transform lives and bring glory to His Name. My dream is to steward a farm that spreads God's love---one harvest at a time.

May God bless you all.

-Ephraim
